Dear Hapkido Family,
Hapkido is a true Korean martial art that embodies the spirit of veritable martial warriors. Founded six decades ago by Grandmaster Ji Han-Jae, it has proven its effectiveness as the official training system for Korea’s Presidential Security Service and National Police Academy, earning global respect for its practical combat techniques.
Yet Hapkido’s greatest strength lies beyond fighting: it teaches the philosophy of harmony, tolerance, and non-confrontation – principles that help us build a better society. Today, the Korea Hapkido Federation unites over 30 million black-belt holders through 22 branches in Korea and dojangs in 87 countries worldwide. Our Central Training Institute in historic Gyeongju continues to preserve and transmit authentic Hapkido to the next generation.
As practitioners of this benevolent martial art, it is our shared mission to spread Hapkido’s values of humanity and harmony throughout a material-focused world. To every leader, instructor, student, and supporter – thank you for your dedication. Together, let us make Hapkido’s unique cultural heritage shine even brighter across the globe.
